my career

 Good afternoon, professor and classmates

My name is Javiera Ponce and I am studying Early Childhood Education at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Chile.

I chose my career after a bad choice in the accounting area during my third year, because I always wanted to study something related to the educational area. IT WAS, IS AND WILL BE MY PASSION "TEACHING".

In my career we approached during the first years different areas of study such as: psychology, sociology, first aid in the area of health, research, among others that are not approached in greater depth, but always focused on the area of

 childhood.

My favorite subjects until my ninth semester have been: "Health and child care", "Educational research", "pedagogical knowledge of language and communication, cycle one and cycle two" and pedagogical knowledge of the social and cultural environment.

I don't like the fact that many of the knowledge they give us will not be used in our day to day in the classroom and there are other vital knowledge such as the teaching portfolio and the work with parents, families and community that are not very visible in our training.

An important fact is that I am in my fourth year, although I should be in my fifth year. But, as fate would have it, I failed two important subjects in my career and I fell behind.  I can say that I am happier and calmer since then.
